REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Samantha Cochran 7/19/2019 6:47 AMOur office is on a main road here in Gastonia . Although we have a lawn maintenance crew that comes each Monday morning, by Friday we have lots of trash in the parking lot or on the green spaces.
The office staff here went out first thing this morning and picked up trash and debris around our building complex.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable ContainersHow can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?
Samantha Cochran 7/18/2019 9:55 AMWe all go shopping from time to time and never think about the plastic bags that we toss out. I just signed a petition to end the use of plastic bags at Target stores.
Together we can make a difference #NewMindset #EcoChallengeAccepted -
Samantha Cochran 7/17/2019 1:27 PMEvery day brings something new with this challenge. I live very close to my office so I go home most days on my lunch break and relax or do some things around the house. Today it was a load of laundry and while I was sorting putting things in the washer I thought this big plastic bottle of laundry detergent what will happen to it once I am finished with it.....I immediately went to Pinterest...yes Pinterest and started researching how to make my own laundry detergent. So I will replace my plastic bottles for a glass (pretty) container (I love home design) to sit on my shelf with my homemade laundry detergent in it. #NewMindSet #EcoChallengeAccepted-

Samantha Cochran 7/16/2019 6:19 AMSo I went to the grocery store last night and grabbed a buggy to get the things that I needed. As I walked through the store picking up some of the typical items I buy, this challenge ran across my mind. At that point, I began going back through the store and putting things back and exchanging them for different items that were not packaged at all or the least packaging possible. It is the smallest of things that make the biggest impact.

Samantha Cochran 7/10/2019 12:50 PMI really did not think too much about the environment until I accepted this challenge. I have read a few articles on the affects of some of the things I have chosen and it really makes you think about the choices that you make each and every day with just the little things like packing your lunch or grabbing a bottle of water. We can make a difference in the environment one person or one challenge at a time ! -
