August 1 at 11:56 AMOne of the biggest things I learned is just how hard it is to get away from plastic containers. They're everywhere. The metal tumbler I use at work in lieu of disposable cups has a plastic lid. I don't want to give up eating berries, which are one of summer's great pleasures, but no one puts them out in cardboard containers any more--just...

July 11 at 11:51 AMSo far the challenge is going very well. We continue to do the things out in the community that we normally do and now we are showing it to the WORLD! LOL. But in all seriousness, this is an opportunity to get out and walk the walk!

July 10 at 5:29 PMI joined the challenge because there's something about putting my goals in writing that motivates me (no different than logging my food intake with Weight Watchers :-) It gives me a sense of accountability. And hopefully through my efforts, someone will see my actions and they will be encouraged to make their own actions. Let's go Bank of...

July 6 at 12:27 PMhaving a "girls day" where we can make our own face masks, hair masks, makeup remover would be a good way to incorporate the sense of community.
-
July 3 at 1:37 PMI've been using a Sip by S'well water bottle and I love how it keeps my water the perfect temp even in this warm weather we have been having

July 2 at 1:57 PMI can send letters to congress asking for reform

I myself am guilty of this as I sometimes feel overwhelmed at the thought of having to carve specific time out of my days to go to...

July 2 at 9:59 AMFore those in the Charlotte area: please share if you have any lunch spots that are plastic-free! Of course bringing your own food is preferred, but we all know time is of the essence. Would love to hear from you if you have any recommendations.

July 1 at 6:43 PMyes, it hasn't been has extended as it should be. There are a couple of places around my neighborhood that already made the change and at some local bars they have a message that they will give an straw only if you ask.
-
July 1 at 6:42 PMI send a FB message to the Showmars people because they use too much plastic, I stopped going there for lunch because they never replied back. I pretty much eat all the time at Soho Bistro, no plastic waste.
