Plastic was a cheap option for companies. There is zero reason to buy razors that dull after a few weeks of use. It's cheap in the short term but no other purpose.

Herb Fauth 7/31/2019 2:02 PMThe easiest thing we did was switch from plastic trash bags to paper. We just didn't think to do this before Eco Challenge. On the other hand, it is my observation that a fair number of the eco friendly solutions are currently niche markets and it takes a more focused effort to pay extra, plan ahead and order delivery and just compare product effectiveness. Overall, Eco Challenge was a great experience and opened us up to new possibilities. Thanks to all for participating and being an encouragement. -

Lauren Belcher 7/31/2019 1:07 PMRefusing disposables when picking up food. Stashing reusable cutlery in my office, car, and purse. At work I think the biggest hurdle is finding funding for dish soap and sponges so we can wash our reusable forks, spoons, and knives! -

Sally Sherman 7/31/2019 10:57 AMHaving squeezed the very last shot out of my toothpaste tube, I have now made a batch of tooth powder, principally involving baking soda and salt. It tastes pretty salty, so I may want to add some refreshing flavor such as peppermint oil, but for now, it’s doing the job. I just can’t part with my electric toothbrush, though, and so far I haven’t found any bamboo replacement heads. -
