REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Watch a DocumentaryWhich documentary did you choose to watch? What did you learn?
Lauren Belcher 7/31/2019 1:10 PMThe True Cost. Learned all about fast fashion and how cheap "trendy" clothing that goes out of style in a year is a huge detriment to not only the Earth, but resources and safety of the workers. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable UtensilsHow can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?
Lauren Belcher 7/31/2019 1:07 PMRefusing disposables when picking up food. Stashing reusable cutlery in my office, car, and purse. At work I think the biggest hurdle is finding funding for dish soap and sponges so we can wash our reusable forks, spoons, and knives! -
Lauren Belcher 7/01/2019 4:28 PMSince my challenges are necessarily daily, tonight I am going to research a documentary to watch during this month about waste and also order some reusable utensils to bring into work and keep here. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Travel SmartHow can/did you prepare to be successful in this action? Did you engage in conversation with anyone about your new habit?
Lauren Belcher 7/01/2019 4:27 PMPut reusable bags, bottles, food containers, utensils in my car. Also put bottle and utensils both in my office and in my purse. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal Care Pearly WhitesCurrently most of the packaging for toothpaste is plastic. How can you advocate for more alternatives through your purchasing power and influence in community?
Lauren Belcher 6/28/2019 3:34 PMVote with my $$$! Research the packaging BEFORE I buy and go into the store with a plan. Also, talking to friends and family about the plastic free products I am buying will hopefully help influence their decisions or at least make them starting thinking about going plastic free. -
Lauren Belcher 6/28/2019 1:42 PMI am looking forward to this challenge and actually following through! I want to make sure to start looking at the more "difficult" aspects of living a plastic-free life. Bring it on! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Plant a GardenBesides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?
Lauren Belcher 6/28/2019 1:39 PMHaving the knowledge of HOW to grow my own food and appreciating the work that goes into growing your own food!
