This has been an eye-opening and rejuvenating experience for me, and I have set habits that I will maintain and continue to value long after the challenge is over. I have learned, shared, and implemented earth-friendly practices along the way!

I have stopped using plastic trash bags in my waste paper baskets.  When grocery shopping I bring my own bags and stopped using the individual plastic produce bags.  I have become more aware of the amount of plastic I was using and will continue to reduce plastic waste.  I enjoyed this plastic free ecochallenge.  It has brought more awareness...

I really hope that our actions have an impact on the people around us and that they in turn acquire certain habits that also impact the people around them and that so on we continue a chain of actions for the wellbeing of our planet and ourselves.

I donated to 4Ocean, a company that takes plastic out of the ocean and recycles it responsibly, in order to continue my efforts to combat pollution, climate change, and plastic waste/consumption. This issue really hits home for me and I will work to continue these habits and focus on this issue after the challenge is over!

This was very easy to do.  I just brought my own containers and bottles to use and brought them all home with me to wash.  It didn't effect our travels at all.

I've been trying to eliminate and reduce plastic use for three years now--it's impossible to eliminate it, sadly. But I keep trying to pay close attention to reusing and reducing plastic in my life and have made some steps in the right direction!

Doesn't seem safe.  I have the notion that it will expire sooner

My main issue is buying veggies, mainily greens in bulk. I shop a lot at Costco and their big bag of mixed green or spinach in very reasonable. But I end up throwing a lot out. I try to use it in soups and other dishes but it's still too much. The solution is to grow a small plot of greens in my yard that will allow me a continual small crop...

Working with others to clean up my community gave me mixed feelings. I was definitely positive about it because there is no doubt removing litter in vast quantities was a good thing, especially as my town is on an estuary and we were cleaning up litter along the quay front that was destined for the sea otherwise.  It made me feel angry too -...
