I try to use my recyclable containers as long as I can to store food, other household items (works great for this) and when I do get plastic bags from the grocery store, I always bring them back to their recycle containers that they have on site.  I will bring plastic containers home when we have parties at work so that I can put into our recycle can at home to be picked up and used for something else.

This was very easy to do.  I just brought my own containers and bottles to use and brought them all home with me to wash.  It didn't effect our travels at all.

We actually have 4 cats in our house, so their hair can be a challenge, especially our cat Spirit who has white fur.  She likes to sleep on the couch (which is red) and every morning I have to pick up the white fur that she leaves behind.  I have a special hair removal brush with little nubs on it that picks up the hair just fine.  I sometimes just wet my hand and remove the hair which works pretty good for me.  We just have to make sure that we sweep our house each day, you would not believe the amount of fur that we pick up on a daily basis.

    Food Minimize Packaging
With the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?

I've noticed that a lot of products are being sold in recyclable containers.  You can use them again to store food and even to use in your microwave.  We use ours for other things besides just food, like craft items, nuts and bolts, seeds, health & beauty aids, etc.  There are still products that are plastic wrapped that you cannot recycle like ground beef, deli lunchmeat and bacon.
