Alicks Kundart 7/25/2019 4:57 PMI would normally buy a big plastic pitcher and cheap plastic cups for "outdoor dishware" but something in the antique store caught my eye this morning. Summer iced tea will now be served in a beautiful antique carnival glass pitcher and matching glasses. Crazy, right?-
Kristen Ornelas 7/29/2019 8:45 AMAmazing! What a wonderful and beautiful way to solve the issue and reuse something practical. -

Alicks Kundart 7/24/2019 2:39 PMDid I tell you I am IN LOVE with my LUSH shampoo bar? So they had this thing that looked like a wheel of green cheese and it turned out to be this avocado cocoa butter shampoo bar. After buying, I had it in a tin sitting near my sink and every single time I walked in there I would just take a deep breath and feel happy. I kept telling my co-worker about this avocado shampoo and the scent and she questioned why I would love the smell of avocado so much, especially since it's not a powerful smell. I said it had to be mixed with something else but could never put my finger on it. Well....it turns out that it's BERGAMOT. It's the one scent that I absolutely love time and time again, so why I didn't connect the dots (and the smell), I will never know. I just know the dang smell makes me happier than almost anything. -
Alicks Kundart 7/19/2019 8:34 AMJust returned from a 9-day Alaskan tour. Noticed that the Disney ships are providing paper bags for purchases, sustainable straws, and switched from the little plastic bottles of shampoo/conditioner/body wash to big glass ones. I opted for the reusable glasses and mugs over the cups, as well as my own tumbler. Virtually plastic-free vacation as a result. I accepted one plastic bag at one stop because I forgot to take something with me to carry things back in.-
Alicks Kundart 7/22/2019 2:17 PMThey were flimsy paper (?) straws. https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/26/us/disney-plastic-straws-trnd/index.html -
Jennifer Nelson 7/22/2019 1:24 PMTell me more about sustainable straws... paper? corn plastic? durable?

REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal Care Lather UpWhat are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?
Alicks Kundart 7/01/2019 9:37 AMThe LUSH products I purchased smell so amazing and make me feel good. I know it is saving plastic to use them so I am willing to forego the basic convenience of simply squirting a shampoo or conditioner in my hair and going. This new shampoo bar is tricky as it's very soft but it takes some time to get ready before putting it in my hair. I'm not sure it's working. It's hard to tell! I can't wait to eliminate all the bottles in my shower! -
Alicks Kundart 7/01/2019 9:31 AMWent to LUSH and got a shampoo bar (the avocado one smells AMAZING but tricky to use it, especially as it stuck to the tin I bought to store it in!), a facial moisturizer, a lip balm, body lotion, and some toothpaste tablets. They all smell so amazing. The only plastic was for the tablets but it is recycled plastic, so I'm trying! -
Alicks Kundart 6/26/2019 8:55 AMThere appears to be 2 Washington County teams. Uh oh!-
Jennifer Nelson 6/26/2019 10:00 AMThanks for the heads up - we got right on addressing that! Should be fixed now. :)

Alicks Kundart 6/25/2019 11:46 AMAnxious to try a shampoo bar. I know LUSH sells a bunch. Any other cruelty-free bars out there that someone can recommend?-
Angie Steiner 6/26/2019 9:16 AMI really like QUA Organics on Etsy - https://www.etsy.com/shop/QUAOrganicHairCare
I'm a huge fan of their forest scent - they also tend to include little samples and extras which I really like. Their packaging on the smaller stuff relies on plastics, which is too bad, but their formula is fantastic!
