I 've noticed that we spend a lot on food, which is all about our health. We are going to the store a bit more frequently, but we are eating better and healthier foods.

I absolutely despise those hand-pump soaps and the huge amount of plastic they come in. My husband really likes them. We have discussed it for years, and I use the bar of soap by the sink, and he uses a pump soap. But - we are both behind refilling the pump soap containers. That I can get behind. We have been refilling them often from the BYOB...

Why have I been buying my produce in single use plastic bags all of these years? I still do it now and then, for something really precious and perishable, but I have cut way, way, way down.

I am traveling, and am doing my best with this. Three of us are traveling, and I refill our 4 water bottles at every chance. I have a bag with plastic cutlery in it, that I have been using since I collected it on my last trip.

It's not that hard to pick up litter. I have been walking on the beach in Canada. It is very clean out here. But when my daughter and I see a chip bag or a piece of plastic, we pick it up. I tell her, "Now it won't go into a fish's belly."

I have not, unfortunately, seen any shifts in the community. Some restaurants around are not just handing them out, you have to ask for them. But nothing really about reusable ones.

Giving people the right education is important, and providing them with the tools to really use the proper utensils and such. Giving people a place to clean and store them is important.

Single use plastics are all over, even in local stores. They are surprisingly everywhere. Almost inevitable for some products. I wish there were less all over!

It spreads knowledge faster than speaking with people. I'm knew to the social media world, but I've learned it goes viral fast!

Cotton, linen, and wool are all great options for clothes. Cotton is breathable, linen is light and flowing, and wool keeps you warm. The more natural things we use the less synthetic material that would need to be produced. Less harsh material that could pollute the land fills or water ways, etc.
