REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Natural FibersWhat are the benefits (to people, animals, and the environment) of purchasing clothes made with natural fibers?
Heidi Moxham 7/09/2019 10:19 AMCotton, linen, and wool are all great options for clothes. Cotton is breathable, linen is light and flowing, and wool keeps you warm. The more natural things we use the less synthetic material that would need to be produced. Less harsh material that could pollute the land fills or water ways, etc. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Plant a GardenBesides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?
Heidi Moxham 7/09/2019 10:17 AMWe will have healthier foods that aren't full of pesticides. We will spend less money on veggies from the store, though the drawback is taking that profit away from our local stores and local CSAs. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Start CompostingDo an inventory of how much food waste you would save from going to the landfill if you start composting all of the time. What are the added benefits of having compost that is readily accessible?
Heidi Moxham 7/09/2019 10:16 AMWe started composting, and it's amazing how much there was at first that we were wasting. We started rethinking our shopping and eating habits. It will turn into great soil for the garden, we are excited about the potential of doing that next season. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFamily Discover TogetherWhat concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.
Heidi Moxham 7/09/2019 10:14 AMHumans are basically destroying the planet, and we need to be doing a better job taking care of where we live. People don't always understand that what we do, no matter how small, affects our planet. From plastic waste to carbon emissions. We toake a change! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFamily Swap the SnacksHow does swapping out prepackaged snacks for fresh fruit or veggies benefit your family?
Heidi Moxham 7/09/2019 10:12 AMNot only is it saving wrappers from the land fills, but it's healthier in the long run for people to be eating more fruits and veggies! I had blueberries for a snack today instead of a granola bar. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Heidi Moxham 7/09/2019 10:11 AMMy hope is that other people will see me just randomly picking up garbage, and inspire someone to do just that. Quietly paying it forward!
