Am I the only only who is disappointed that all month long we have been able to enter our task completions up to 3 days after the fact,  but now on Aug 1, we are cut off and can't report the last 3 days accomplishments?  What's up with that? I just lost 3 days worth of keeping my promises.

This eco challenge  has definitely made me think twice about my convenience vs. the environmental impact of my choices.

Community Visit A Waste Management Facility
Landfills and recycling centers tell us a lot about our communities and purchasing habits. What did you glean from your visit?

I made the appointment for a tour in August.

Personal Care Back in the Bowl
Why is it so difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places? How might your experience with this challenge impact your future consumption and choices?

I have been working to be more aware of what I buy and where it comes from, and realizing where I can reduce my purchasing and create a sharing economy,

I have loved becoming more mindful of the amount of waste I consume, and working towards finding sustainable solutions. Things I want to try now are wool balls for my dryer instead of dryer sheets and reusing bags at the store.

So, here is a reward that I was certainly not expecting when we began this EcoChallenge.  Yesterday, my Special Olympian son & I were picking up litter from along the side of a road near our home.  Later, that evening, a neighbor appeared at our front door with a plate loaded with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.  Apparently, she had driven by and seen us in action and just wanted to express her appreciation for our civic efforts.  How cool is that?

It’s finally becoming a habit for me to remember to take my reusable bags into stores when I go shopping.

    Personal Care Lather Up
What are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?

We've tried a few brands and settled on Dr. Bronner's because there are choices of flavors of shampoo and places to refill the bottle.

    Food Buy Unpackaged Produce
Why do you think these produce products started amassing so much plastic packaging? Who is the plastic packaging really serving -- the consumer, the producer, or someone else?

I brought my own cloth bag and put the vegetables directly in it today.
