I had a hard time keeping up with this challenge with all the vacation and traveling I did in July. I guess that's good to know and I can do some things to plan ahead better next summer.

    Food Lobby for Reusables
What are some of the cases you could make to an employer for why switching to durable dishes and utensils is actually in their best interest as well?

I am not sure if this would convince the cafe to use non plastic utensils  but hiring a dishwasher would help an unemployed person out.

On my weekend travels, while I was advocating for not using single use plastic, with my reusable bags, I learned that Connecticut is going to charge 5 cents for each plastic bag starting soon (Aug. 1, 2019)   in all the stores, state wide.

Picked blueberries at my Dad's house and ate them right from the bushes, so no plastics needed except for the reusable gallon milk jug cut off.

Vehicle travel day is very hard to not generate plastic although I did my best with bringing in my reusable bags and reusable containers with me.

When you check-in on the current day you get 25 points! I have been cheating myself out of points because I don't check-in until the following day after going to the grocery store the previous evening. I don't check-in over the weekend because I'm always off on an outdoor adventure. I will be driving to Adirondack Park in New York State for a week-long vacation. Mobile reception is very poor out there, as the nearest cell tower is 12 miles distant from where I'll be staying. I will try to score some check-ins next week but it may not be possible. {:-(

I bought organic apples yesterday and automatically reached for the plastic produce bag dispenser. Luckily, I caught myself just in time and remembered to use the cloth sack I had tucked-away in my canvas shopping bag.  {:-)

How hard was it to check out when they couldn't see the sticker through a plastic bag?

Went to the Brooklyn food trucks smorgasbord and searches far and wide for recycling bins but there weren’t any, dismayed I asked and was told all plates and utensils were compostable!

    Lifestyle Complete a Waste Audit
What did you learn about the waste you create? Where can you reduce the most?

I was going to do a waste audit as one of my Challenges, but looks like I'm not going to get that accomplished. I've been busy with other activities this July, and just don't have the focus to count every piece of trash that I generate. However, I did switch from using polyester and polyurethane kitchen scrub sponges to Pura Naturals, which are made from plant-based renewable resources without plastics or petroleum by-products. They don't say exactly what they're made from, and the texture is firmer than what I'm used to, but I suppose I'm doing something good for Mother Earth!
