July 31 at 5:36 PMBuying bulk is teaching us to make our own food that we would otherwise buy pre-made, like granola bars, bread, and broth. I think our Western society teaches us to move fast all the time, and prevents us from slowing down enough to prepare our own food from scratch. I also think there's a perception that it's more expensive to cook from scratch.

July 31 at 5:34 PMWe use SO many diapers, that's a huge volume of trash across the first year or two of each child's life. They don't decompose easily, they often have chemicals, and they make it harder for our kiddos to connect pottying with being wet, which is a key aspect of potty training.
