July 31 at 6:45 PMTo all of our Columbus Zoo Staff and Volunteer team members - I can't believe how quickly July has gone! You still have a few hours to log in, check in, check off actions and post your thoughts, so go for it! I have been so impressed with our team's efforts, with your candor in sharing your successes and the actions that didn't go quite as...

July 31 at 6:18 PMProud of our efforts! Plastic will always be used, but hopefully single use will disappear. It can be done.....
-
July 31 at 6:10 PMI love how much easier this got throughout the month. Forming some great habits 😊

July 31 at 5:02 PMI find myself feeling very guilty when I find myself with single use plastic or non sustainables; I need to recognize when I can make improvements without being harsh and also commend myself when I do well and try to keep it up. This was one month of great insight and just a baby step of a long journey in the right direction.

July 31 at 2:25 PMOur neighbors constantly use plastic cutlery and paper plates & napkins. Their wedding anniversary is right around the corner, so instead of being pushy, I thought a gift would be a way to get them to switch (or at least somewhat) to stop using disposables. 🤞

July 31 at 2:18 PMI had purchased rice and beans in plastic bags in the past. No more! I have a stack of brown paper lunch bags that I keep with my grocery & produce bags for the additional bulk items I have added to my pantry. And then into mason (style) jars. No more plastic in my pantry!

July 31 at 2:10 PMThis has been an amazing challenge! I thought I was good prior but this really made me focus and think more about things and the lasting impact to the environment. I am so proud to be a member for this challenge, our team ROCKS! ♻
-
July 31 at 1:51 PMGo Team Go! Don't forget you have until midnight to log any remaining actions and post comments to earn those last points!
-
July 31 at 12:58 PMThe Challenge was great for making me rethink my habits and make small changes that hopefully add up to big change!
