I will advocate for alternatives to single use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, or work.
Community
Host a House Party
I will host a house party with friends and/or colleagues to watch a movie or present a guest speaker on plastics.
Lifestyle
Watch a Documentary

Zoo New England Team 7/19/2019 5:26 AMI had my birthday cookout last night and everyone kept asking for plastic or paper plates and utensils.... NOPE! Used all reusable dishes yesterday! No bottled water allowed too!-

Zoo New England Team 7/16/2019 3:23 AMHalfway there everyone! Great job so far!! -
Zoo New England Team 7/12/2019 3:18 PMOff the grid for 4 days- hard to check in. I went camping and for the most part was able to use reusable items but the biggest fail is that we had to buy gallon jugs of water because we couldn’t drink the water there. Any advice on how to avoid this for 5 days straight???!!-
Erica Farrell 7/12/2019 6:44 PMKristina speaks the truth! Also you could buy a reusable large water holder so you’ll have one for all future camping trips!!! We use one for Moose when we travel or bring him to softball games -
Krystina Jarvis 7/12/2019 5:16 PMAt least you bought gallon jugs rather than small water bottles! Not a perfect solution, but a better one than the alternative!

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Minimize PackagingWith the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?
Zoo New England Team 7/02/2019 4:58 PMThe worst is when things are double wrapped. You think you made a wise choice picking something wrapped in paper or cardboard until you get home and realized the product is also wrapped in plastic on the inside. Disappointing.g-
