Julie Sinistore 7/31/2019 10:46 AMIt's been a quick month! I feel like I have been more aware than ever about plastics this month. -
Julie Sinistore 7/27/2019 10:10 PMWe are doing a lunch and learn o. Tuesday and I want to provide a snack for everyone that doesn't involve plastic, but it's hard to think of one I can buy at Safeway with our bottle drop funds. I think I'll get whole fruit like peaches and plums, though even they have little plastic stickers on them :( -
Julie Sinistore 7/23/2019 7:26 AMI used a go box yesterday and the day before to get salad bar food from a local grocery store (only what I needed) and take out for my husband! -
Julie Sinistore 7/23/2019 7:25 AMWe are in the middle of moving houses so it's really hard to avoid single use plastic stuff like bubble wrap. I'm trying really hard to use only the materials we have in the house like towels and clothes to pack stuff. One thing we did have to buy was tape. not sure what else would be able to be used to make a strong box! Has anyone invented like reusable moving boxes that aren't cardboard and don't require tape? There are banker's boxes that don't require tape, but they don't hold that much.-
Julie Sinistore 7/29/2019 7:25 AMHey Meghan, thanks for this resource! I think from a life cycle perspective that this could be similar to comparisons between plastic and wooden pallets. It depends on how many times the plastic moving boxes could be reused compared to how many times a cardboard box could be reused. -
Meghan Jones 7/24/2019 8:42 AMWhat an awesome idea, Julie! Looks like a few companies offer plastic crates with lids that don't require tape. Do you think this would be better even though the crates are plastic? I'm curious from a life cycle perspective. https://www.zippgo.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMItcGlgfLN4wIVSj0MCh0QUQZiEAAYAiAAEgKL4vD_BwE
