Michelle Maranowski 7/10/2019 9:19 AMWell... my challenge is not going as well as I had hoped. Yesterday, a friend gave me a delicious home made treat to enjoy (which I did) wrapped in plastic wrap. I don't know what to do with the wrap. Reuse it? Plastic wrap is hard to reuse. Advice or thoughts? -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable UtensilsHow can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?
Michelle Maranowski 7/05/2019 6:51 PMOne reason to have lunch in the break room rather than at my desk is to be an example of moving towards being plastics-free. One of my goals is to start a conversation about this in the break room. Conversation and story-telling are powerful tools. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusables at WorkIt is often true that we only have control over our own actions and not the collective community. How can you lead by example when it comes to switching disposables for reusable dishes in your community?
Michelle Maranowski 7/02/2019 9:00 PMI think that the Green Team should start talking about making this switch at Tech Tuesdays. Maybe we can speak about our own experiences. This makes it more personal. -
Michelle Maranowski 7/02/2019 8:52 PMI made the commitment to make my own cleaners and cleansers - a one time challenge. I'm concerned about using vinegar to clean because I don't want my house to smell too vinegar-y. But, I found a big grapefruit at work and I'll steep the peels in the vinegar. Hopefully, this will temper the vinegar smell. In other news, I picked up three pieces of plastic trash on my evening walk. My husband found this amusing.-
Lisa Incatasciato 7/03/2019 9:38 AMI make my own cleaners with vinegar. It seems strong while I'm cleaning but goes away very quickly. I have essential oils I add in and those scents linger and some even help with cleaning disinfecting!
