Chantal Collins 7/11/2019 6:09 AMI am looking to get moisturizer but find almost all is sold in plastic. My facial ones I buy in glass. Any suggestions??-
Kellianne Ticcony 7/11/2019 8:43 PMThe Lush body butter bars work great for moisturizing and come without plastic packaging -
Chantal Collins 7/11/2019 8:24 AMThank you so much!! -
Adele Philippides 7/11/2019 6:50 AMI have not tried it yet, but I am intrigued with the ideas of solid lotion bars. Lush makes some that people rave about but are too expensive for me! It looks like they also have regular non-solid lotions in tins.

I prefer to look on Etsy - there are lots of people making lotion bars and shampoo bars for reasonable prices. They would probably be fine for the body but it might be taking a gamble for the sensitive skin on the face. I am also not sure that tins are a very sustainable option either, so I like these from Ohio that are produced in mostly-recycled paper. I also like the ingredient line-up in them, although as I said, I haven't tried them personally.

However, searching on Etsy for lotion bars reveals thousands of results, so I would shop around. You could probably find someplace local to you!

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Minimize PackagingWith the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?
Chantal Collins 7/05/2019 5:50 PMthe amount of plastic used is crazy! I have switched to cans of seltzer and tonic and I grab as many loose vegetables as possible. But certain veggiesare packaged and all meat is wrapped. It’s hard to get around all packaging -
Chantal Collins 7/03/2019 4:25 AMTrying to shop without plastic is a hell of a challenge. I’m trying to see it as a personal contest; what can I buy that has minimal packaging...forcing me to try new products 😊
