Throughout the entire month I started replacing everyday items with better eco friendly and waste free alternatives. This challenge really opened my eyes to how much people rely on convenient and disposal items. I plan to continue using waste free products and continue looking for more eco friendly ways to live my day to day life. I'm excited for next year to see how far I've come.

Final day whoop. 31 days done I've learned that somethings are a day by day thing. 50 peices tonight.

I have been combining my daily activity with my litter pickup action. I hope to continue this action. Next year, I will increase my commitment to 20 pieces! I hope to keep the "only buy what I need" action as part of all my shopping trips. Less impulse buying.

This was a great reminder to look at our lifestyles, I really enjoyed reading peoples comments and look forward to next year.

I kept forgetting to log in this go around, but I always kept the actions and plastic free July in my back pocket and tried my best to be better. Great challenge & a great team!

I used my cellphone calendar to set a reminder every evening to check in. It really kept me on target.

Plan ahead! It helps to plan your travel needs in advance, this way if there is something missing you can make/buy it instead of last minute packing and tossing in the usual one-time-use items.

I agree Amanda, I used to grab the laundry bag in hotels when traveling to collect dirty clothes. I now when I arrive home put a clean cloth bag in my suitcase before putting it into storage so that I dont have to pickup that bag from the hotel

Every year gets a bit easier as more consumers insist on eco options.   Looking forward to doing it all again

I used mason jars and tin containers that I already had to package up my toiletry items to travel with. I was so proud of myself for not going and buying and small travel items, especially since they can be so much more expensive. It's much cheaper to buy in bulk (and less plastic if there is any!) and just refill containers.

Why is it so difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places? How might your experience with this challenge impact your future consumption and choices?

It's hard to understand the impact on someone, thing, place else if you have no connection to it.  Out of spite out of mind.
I, we, need to find ways to connect to our world, the whole world.  There are many.  I'll incorporate new experiences to my daily life.

Made myself an extra poop scooper by cutting an old bleach  bottle on and angel, saving the handle.
