A little bummed I only contributed half the time...I will work harder next year...hooray for goals!

Today may be the "final" day, but my habits won't stop.  I look forward to challenging myself as an ongoing stewardship activity.  Go Earth!

Wow this has been a busy week.   It was surprisingly hard to convince restaurants to not put that plastic straw in my water.  Hopefully businesses will rethink the use of the plastic straw.   It is a small thing but it sure adds up.  With so many individuals participating in the plastic free challenge, I think we will see a positive result...

It's amazing how little trash you produce when you start refusing plastic and find the alternatives. EVERYTHING has one, so excited to reduce the waste I create over my lifetime.

Last day of challenge. Once I got into a routine, it went well. I feel this month I have changed more of my habits.

I've enjoyed participating in this event again this year.  One thing I did notice different than the last time - while participating did heighten my awareness of the use of plastics and their damage to our environment, it also heightened my dread at how pervasive they are and the huge task ahead of us to change the way we live on this planet. ...

Final day!  I feel like I’ve learned more this year than last and will continue to reduce my single use plastic consumption. Thank you to Melissa and Caryn for running this challenge!  

I chose the minimialism documentary. It was interesting in terms of how often they would talk about the accumulation of stuff contributing to unhappiness. Reflection Question:  Restaurants, for sure - especially walk up places like food trucks.  I think at a minimum, just asking if they would consider moving from single use disposable cutlery is a way to advocare. Business owners (for the most part) listen to what their customers want.  If they hear it enough.....many businesses in Seward have...

One more day to go.  It has been good to participate in the challenge this year. Keeps me mindful of my eco-footprint.
