I tried to BYO container to the deli counter and Whole Foods was not having it. I've run into this before as a health code issue. The butcher was very nice about it, but was firm about her rules.

Hmmm, I wonder if they could technically hand you the sandwich and/meats on a piece of Deli Wrap paper  that you could then put in your container? From what I have heard at Starbucks is that they can't personally handle the container. I wonder if we could call the health department ourselves and ask what is the policy on BYO containers (a lot of people at places could be misinformed).

That is a great idea, too bad they would not allow.  Nice effort!!
