Laura's actions
Create Your Own Action
No Coffee Cup
I will no longer use any cups to get coffee, meaning I will carry a cup around at all times
Food
Skip the Straw
I will keep 3 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Personal Care
Lather Up
I will replace my soaps, shampoos, and conditions with either a bar or refillable option.
Personal Care
That Was a Close Shave
I will replace my disposable razors with steel razors. Why not try using hair conditioner instead of shaving foam for that baby smooth feel?
Personal Care
Fresh as a Daisy
I will use deodorant either from a bar or a jar or I will make my own.
Personal Care
Pearly Whites
I will purchase toothpaste in an aluminum tube or in a glass jar or make my own!
Personal Care
Back in the Bowl
I will purchase refillable beauty products.
Community
Share My Actions
I will make my environmental actions visible by posting to my social media networks.
Family
Plastic Free Lunch Boxes
I will only pack reusable cutlery, drinkware and tupperware-like containers in my children's lunches to reduce plastic waste.
Food
Visit the Butcher
I will purchase meats and cheeses from the deli counter or a butcher shop, and use my own containers to do so.
Food
Advocate For More Food Packaging Options
I will advocate for alternatives to single use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, or work.
Lifestyle
Travel Toiletries
If traveling, I will reuse my old travel tubes to refill with my soaps or only bring bar soaps with me in a TSA approved reusable quart sized bag.
Lifestyle
Watch a Documentary
I will watch a documentary film about waste with family and friends and talk about what we learned.
Lifestyle
Travel Smart
If traveling, I will bring my own plastic free items (water bottle, grocery bags, collapsible food containers, utensils, straws, etc.) with me.
Food
Minimize Packaging
I will purchase food items with the least amount of packaging.
Community
Keep My Community Clean
I will pick up 10 piece(s) of litter each day.

Laura Stanton 7/25/2019 1:41 PMCamping with zero plastic will be a challenge, but I’m hoping to at least reduce and make better choices. -
Laura Stanton 7/24/2019 8:04 PMLast day of conference had the least waste. It was a hard adjustment. -
Laura Stanton 7/23/2019 10:58 PMI would have to say that the hardest part about this challenge is being at a conference, which is like being at work. It makes me worried for when I start work again, because I’m a teacher and I am on summer. But at least I know that this could be a challenge, so I can try to pre-plan is much is possible to save as much plastic one school starts again. -
Laura Stanton 7/22/2019 1:16 PMCase of the Mundaze (stuck at a conference). Trying my best to pick plastic free options and refusing where I can with the snacks they have. -
Laura Stanton 7/21/2019 10:58 PMHave a good week! Only two more weeks left, I already am starting to figure out which habits are most sustainable. -
Laura Stanton 7/20/2019 10:46 AMI called ahead and found out I could bring my own cup to the spa and I save to plastic cups and lids and straws. 👍 -
Laura Stanton 7/19/2019 12:22 AMI just made an aloe vera and cucumber mask for the spa tomorrow. It’s edible, but I will try not to drink it. -
Laura Stanton 7/18/2019 2:22 PMHappy Thursday BTW! Only 13 days left. -
Laura Stanton 7/18/2019 2:20 PMAny suggestions for bin liners? I have seen people fold paper, but mine it too big for folded news paper.-
Laura Stanton 7/20/2019 10:47 AMThanks! -
