I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

Keep My Community Clean
I will pick up 3 piece(s) of litter each day.

Community
Join a Cleanup Effort
I will host or participate in a beach, highway, river, or other cleanup effort in my community.
Lifestyle
Complete a Waste Audit
I will conduct a waste audit - including recyclables and compost - to understand how much waste I create and where I can reduce the most.
Lifestyle
Travel Smart
If traveling, I will bring my own plastic free items (water bottle, grocery bags, collapsible food containers, utensils, straws, etc.) with me.
Lifestyle
Travel Eating
If traveling, I will bring my own airplane snacks and eat at local restaurants to avoid take-out containers.
Lifestyle
Watch a Documentary
I will watch a documentary film about waste with family and friends and talk about what we learned.
Personal Care
Back in the Bowl
I will purchase refillable beauty products.
Food
Use Reusable Containers
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Food
Use a Reusable Mug / Collapsible Cup
I will avoid sending 1 disposable cup(s) to the landfill per day by using a reusable mug or bringing my own collapsible cup.
Food
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases, including produce bags.

Amber MacDonald 7/31/2019 8:02 AM#2 is great! And if you go by points per team member we are WAY in the lead, 239 vs 135 for MD :) Just saying.-
Andrea Lewicki 7/31/2019 11:43 AMYes! Maryland's Team may be bigger, but our impact per person is stronger!

Amber MacDonald 7/19/2019 12:36 PMWe're less than 2,500 points from the top 3 now - I bet we can do it! Setting a reminder on my phone to log-in this weekend :) -
Amber MacDonald 7/16/2019 11:29 AMLooking around my desk and noticing how many office products are made of plastic parts! Lanandra introduced me to these pens made from 86% recycled plastic bottles awhile back, seems like a good option but not sure if they themselves are recyclable. They're refillable as well which is nice! Anyone else looked into plastic free pens and such? http://pilotpen.us/brands/bottle-2-pen-b2p/bottle-2-pen-ball-point/ -
Amber MacDonald 7/12/2019 1:51 PMUpdated The Wild Things, our young professionals group, on our Plastic Free July progress at our meeting this week - they were especially thrilled to hear we're beating the Aquarium :) I encouraged those who haven't joined us yet to do so - and a big shout out to those that already have! Go team!-
Andrea Lewicki 7/13/2019 6:43 AMThanks for sharing our progress Amber! I look forward to more Wild Things joining our team!
