I bought a metal - reusable drinking cup with metal straw to used for fountain drinks and coffee, etc at restaurants. So far all places I have gone with it have been very supportive and accommodating of my bringing my own cup and straw-and not charging me more for a larger cup. It also keeps my drinks colder longer when I take it to-go (it is double lined to keep drinks cool)

I was surprised at how the straw trend has caught fire. I have friends that carry these around for their entire families. Sam and I are getting in on it with our reusable cups. Metal straws are so much better than the old reusable plastic straws with the gross bite marks!

What are the benefits of switching to bamboo toothbrushes? How would you implore others in your community to make this switch as well?

I love my bamboo toothbrush - has softer bristles than the typical brush i used to buy. Bought in bulk for entire family on Amazon. Dentist was happy about the softer bristles.

How has using your own containers impacted the quality of the food you receive? Does this give you more awareness of where your food comes from as opposed to just grabbing a package of mystery origin cheese/meat?

I don't eat meat, but the kids like sandwich meat. Instead of the pre-packaged sandwich meats, the butcher provides cheaper, tastier, probably fresher sandwich meats - and more variety.
