REFLECTION QUESTIONPets Rubber Glove Pet Hair RemovalWe know you want to - tell us about why your pet is so awesome!
Crystal Sanderson 7/24/2019 2:43 PMMy dog probably uses more single use plastic than anything else in my daily life. He only poops on walks and I use plastic bags to pick it up. I found this article on dog waste and options for composting, flushing and/or biodegradable plant based bags: https://www.rover.com/blog/truth-about-biodegradable-poop-bags-in/ I just ordered some biodegradable bags which hopefully is a better option that what I'm currently doing. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable ContainersHow can you think outside the box (or bag!) when it comes to disposables?
Crystal Sanderson 7/17/2019 1:48 PMFor all the cheapskates... I've been buying a watermelon the last couple of weeks rather than berries in containers. It's so refreshing when it's cold and is less expensive than pretty much any other fruit. Also went to Baja Fresh the other day and was reminded that they only charge $1 for a soft drink when you bring your own cup and you don't need to buy their plastic cups. They will honor this with any cup. I believe it's $2.50 when you use a disposable cup. IE $3 savings for two people's lunch. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Minimize PackagingWith the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?
Crystal Sanderson 7/17/2019 1:40 PMThere are single use plastics everywhere. I'm not going to eliminate all plastic, but I'm improving. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusables at WorkIt is often true that we only have control over our own actions and not the collective community. How can you lead by example when it comes to switching disposables for reusable dishes in your community?
Crystal Sanderson 7/17/2019 1:36 PMIt is good to lead by example, but if people don't notice you're doing something, they'll keep on their merry way. It's relatively easy to influence my spouse when I speak up and once we get in a groove, there's no going back. Probably should branch out and talk to other friends and family members. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use a Reusable Mug / Collapsible CupGreat job on getting rid of your disposable cup habit! How does it make you feel? What's next on your list to reduce your waste?
Crystal Sanderson 7/09/2019 12:50 PMNeed to consider disposable items I consume and how to reduce. Food is obviously high on the list. Would like to try making my own yogurt, shopping at the farmer's market for bread and produce without plastic containers.
