I've already gotten into the habit of always carrying a canvas shopping bag with me, so it's easy not to use the big plastic bags. Also I'm almost not using the small plastic bags anymore, but I still need to work on taking smaller produce bags with me as well to avoid them completely.

What are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?

I switched to locally produced Diomina shampoo and conditioner bars, which are actually cheaper than the products I was using before, but work just as well. Also I was surprised to find out that I enjoy the process of washing my hair with bars much more than with liquid products, it feels more natural. The refillable tins are super convenient for travelling! I still have some liquid hand soap and shower gel left, but after they finish I will continue to buy only bar options as well!
