Hannah Keklak 7/10/2019 7:55 PMI do liquor promos for extra spending cash, and we were using paper straws to sample Aperol - kudos points to the company for marketing their brand with a non-plastic option! -
Hannah Keklak 7/05/2019 7:12 PMOne of my all time favorite diners in Boston (Victoria’s Diner) now gives you recyclable plastic bags when handing out takeout! Woo! They also promote customers to bring their own reusable bags for takeout items. -
Hannah Keklak 7/04/2019 5:53 AMVenting session: This morning a Dunkin’ Donuts REFUSED to put coffee in my reusable thermos. I’ve done this countless times but had never gone to this Dunkin’ before. I asked to speak with the manager, and he insisted it was against policy to serve coffee in a non-Dunkin’ thermos. I said he was the only person to not do this for me. He then said it was cross contamination so then I offered for him to wash it - he refused. I said I’m saving your store money by even offering to pay for a large when I asked for a medium. And, further saving the store money by not using a cup and top - he refused. I said okay your cups are paper that’s fine, but I don’t want a top since it’s plastic - he refused. Let’s just say I’m writing a not so very nice email/survey to their headquarters. Also, the store is located at 1443 Tremont St.-

Andrea Lewicki 7/09/2019 12:42 PMI would absolutely write a letter to higher ups. Sounds like that manager and his team could use some retraining. -
Erica Farrell 7/04/2019 6:46 PMYou go girl. Sounds like that manager needs a new job!!!! Keep up the good fight.

Hannah Keklak 7/02/2019 7:30 PMI just started wearing daily contacts so the output of one-use plastics with the actual contact lenses and plastic packaging has increased. So, I will be joining my coworker Siv in saving these for terracycle. Thanks Siv for initiating this; expect some used contact lenses soon! -
Hannah Keklak 7/01/2019 7:24 PMOne of my zoo’s volunteers collects the emptied detergent containers from her laundry mat and brings them to the zoo for us to reuse and repurpose them! I may have gotten a little TOO creative this time and transformed one of the containers into a flower pot for my mint plant!
