Complete a Waste Audit
I will conduct a waste audit - including recyclables and compost - to understand how much waste I create and where I can reduce the most.

Nancy Anderson 7/31/2019 12:44 PMToday may be the "final" day, but my habits won't stop. I look forward to challenging myself as an ongoing stewardship activity. Go Earth! -
Nancy Anderson 7/29/2019 12:25 PMI have been quite active during the challenge this year, and in these last few days I am trying to be active with checking in! :) -
Nancy Anderson 7/28/2019 9:58 PMIt is a good thing that my dedication to using less plastic or reusing what I have is going better than the daily check in! -
Nancy Anderson 7/24/2019 10:15 AMSince my waste audit I find myself reusing items so many more times than once or twice. Storage is a bit of a challenge, but it turns out our throw-away society creates a lot of stuff that has multiple uses...we are only hampered by our own creativity or lack there of.-
Donovan Camp 7/24/2019 6:23 PMI have been collecting my jam jars and also the boxed bottom plastic food bags with ziplocks make for great bulk bin bags. East to wash and dry!

Nancy Anderson 7/22/2019 10:32 AMI love this challenge, and paying closer attention to my own actions. However, I am having a hard time remembering to check in! -
Nancy Anderson 7/17/2019 1:44 PMI passed by a vehicle that had a wild bird scattering garbage everywhere. I shooed the bird away, found a new garbage bag, collected the debris, and disposed of the trash in a bin not accessible to wildlife. That felt great for us, though the bird squawked its disapproval at me, along with the friends that had come to join the meal! -
Nancy Anderson 7/11/2019 4:11 PMI gathered up some trash yesterday that had been scattered by the wind. -
Nancy Anderson 7/11/2019 4:09 PMI bought another insulated, reusable shopping bag yesterday for my future trips to Anchorage and major shopping. Hopefully, with this bag I will be able to purchase produce that is not pre-packaged, nor use a plastic bag to bring items home. -
Nancy Anderson 7/08/2019 10:01 PMThis was a busy 4th of July weekend, and I did not keep up with checking into the challenge. With so many people in town it was easy to pick up trash, and I enjoyed steering people to our refillable water station at the Sustainable Seward booth. Go plastic free days! -
Nancy Anderson 7/05/2019 12:43 AMHappy July 4th. In Seward we celebrated the holiday with the 92nd running of Mt. Marathon Race, parades and "Red, White and go Green!". I made full use of my pledge to pick up trash today.
