REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Stacy Strickland 7/24/2019 8:53 PMTypically I'm picking up litter where I'm walking, so it becomes very personal... as if people are littering in my own home. I have an enhanced feeling of ownership and pride in where I live... especially when it's free of trash -
Stacy Strickland 7/09/2019 7:20 PMI am loving my daily commitment to pick up three pieces of litter. It keeps it small, but manageable... I feel like I'm doing something without having to pick up every single piece of litter. While I'd love to pick up more trash, I'd never get to where I'm going! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Join a Cleanup EffortHow does working with others to clean up your community make you feel?
Stacy Strickland 6/06/2019 11:30 PMLitter pick up parties are so much more fun, and make the work feel a lot easier. The more people there are helping, the easier the work on every single individual. We need to team up to clean up! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Advocate For More Food Packaging OptionsSingle use plastics have become normalized in our society to the point that most people don't see them as a problem. What would you say to a friend, colleague, or family member who may not understand why these disposables are an issue?
Stacy Strickland 6/06/2019 11:28 PMSingle-use disposables use valuable resources not only in the manufacturing and distribution process, but in the end of life process as well. Our planet has limited resources and using them up by using something disposable in a matter of minutes may seem like a win in the short-term, but it is not worth it in long term. -
