In what ways is social media an effective tool for sharing your values?

Social media - FB especially, is less about sharing what people are currently doing, and more about sharing your values. I've been told by multiple loved ones that my values "inspire them" - and in those cases they're referring to what I like to talk about on social media. Leading by example is a much more approachable way to inspire than preaching and guilt.
