Pamela Ng 7/31/2019 4:41 PMWhen next we have another challenge, I'd be sure to look into other actions, so to make my daily activities more comprehensively eco-friendly. -
Pamela Ng 7/31/2019 4:39 PMIt was a challenge alright! Hopefully it has become a habit, now, to cook without generating plastic waste.
I hope, also, that my talking about the eco-challenge to my friends has jolted or encouraged them think about an eco-challenge for themselves. And I think I will be talking about it for a while longer, past July, August, 2019, onward to 2020!!
It was a worthwhile effort. Next time we have another event, I'd be sure to participate.
Thanks to all organizers and our team led for Sustainable Ballard.

REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Buy Only What I NeedAs you have reduced your spending, what have you noticed about your 'health and safety' purchasing habits? How might this change your longer term purchasing decisions?
Pamela Ng 7/22/2019 4:57 PMAt this point in time in my life, I need to be down-sizing among other things. Therefore, only purchasing what I need for food and health has been my aim for the last 4 years. I shall continue the good habit of only purchasing what I need. And I urge everyone to do so. In addition, buy natural stuff only and/or second hand of anything! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Estimate Your Plastic Consumption and Go #PlasticNeutralWhat did you find out about your plastic consumption by using the calculator? What did or didn't surprise you?
Pamela Ng 7/22/2019 4:52 PMI'd love to know my plastic consumption and getting it down to nothing. BUT cannot find the plastic consumption calculator in rePurpose!!!
Where to go next? -
Pamela Ng 7/22/2019 3:49 PMAte out again and brought my glass jars for the leftovers - again the next meal from a glass jar. -
Pamela Ng 7/22/2019 3:47 PMMorning breakfast is the easiest - eggs from paper cartons, and bulk yogurt from a glass jar.-
Jenny Heins 7/26/2019 2:18 PMHi Pamela - Yogurt is one I've struggled with. Where did you find bulk yogurt?

Without prompt from this eco-challenge, I have been doing waste audit on myself for the last year. From the audits, I find that I could save paper napkins (which were composted after use) by using cloth napkins. -
Pamela Ng 7/20/2019 12:25 PMAte out for lunch and brought my own glass jar for the left-overs, lots of it. Then I get the next two meals plastic free.
I have started the practice of bringing my own glass jar for left-overs 8 years ago. I might have embarrassed a few of my lunch or dinner companions but I am adhement about it. -
Pamela Ng 7/20/2019 12:20 PMIt is getting easier to cook a meal without producing plastic waste. I am getting more foods in bulk, buying foods wrapped in paper and buying vegetables without putting them in a plastic bag just for the ride home.
