Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • I've been opting to use reusable bags everywhere I go, and since I received a reusable bag that I can scrunch up and keep on my bag this challenge has been less challenging than I expected.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Personal Care Pearly Whites
Currently most of the packaging for toothpaste is plastic. How can you advocate for more alternatives through your purchasing power and influence in community?

I don't think many people realize how easy it is to make your own alternative products. I quickly googled it and it requires 2 main ingredients, with 3 other ingredients being completely optional. If I had known how easy it was I would have made my own toothpaste years ago. By making my own and sharing it on social media I could influence others to try it out as well.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Make Your Own
How do you feel about being more involved in the food preparation process? Joyful, overwhelmed, engaged, empowered? What are the benefits of choosing to process or produce your own food instead of buying it pre-processed?

By processing my own food, I can control what goes in it. Processed foods sold in grocery stores often contain a lot more sugar than needed. I can control the flavors of my the food and products I make myself as well. One of my favorites is to make homemade Thai peanut sauce!I love cooking and trying new things to make.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Plant a Garden
Besides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?

By growing my own garden I'll have control over the quality of my herbs and vegetables and have a relaxing hobby to do. I'll probably also end up saving a bit on money since I wont need to go out and buy the things i grow.

  • BLAST. I had to use a ziplock bag today but I plan on washing it out and reusing it a couple times. I need to make a trip to costco and see about glass tupparware...

  • Today I forgot my reusable straw and drove back home just to grab it. Why? Because we can make a difference, but it starts with you, FOOLS! MYAAHAHAHAHA!

  • I would really like to try making my own sandwich bread at home, but I'll be content with trying a new stuffed pepper recipe tonight.
