I find myself becoming more conscientious when grocery shopping of what comes in paper, glass or plastic. I hope that brands will make a conscious effort to switch over to better materials that can easily be recycled.

This is scary, since I'm probably the average person when it comes to plastic. We are headed down a dark path if that is the case....

If everyone did this everyday, the whole world would be a spotless as Disneyworld. I'm not kidding, they have people who just walk around with trash picker-uppers and pick up any trash lying around or leaves that fall on the pathways.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Use Reusable Utensils
How can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?

If you just switch to using reusable silverware for lunches every day, you avoid throwing out 5-10 pieces of plastic ware/week! That might seem small but can add up
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Skip the Straw
Have you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.

People are more conscientious of the impact their everyday habits have on contributing to trash.
