REFLECTION QUESTIONPersonal Care Dam the FlowDisposable tampons and menstrual pads are often quite expensive. What are the economic and personal benefits of this switch for you?
Kaitlyn Knutson 7/19/2019 5:06 AMI've tried a cup for a couple days now and to spare everyone the details, I've enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. There's something really nice about not seeing my trashcan filling up with waste like it does every other month. I also have to worry less about the problems caused by other menstrual products like toxic shock syndrome. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Estimate Your Plastic Consumption and Go #PlasticNeutralWhat did you find out about your plastic consumption by using the calculator? What did or didn't surprise you?
Kaitlyn Knutson 7/15/2019 1:40 PMI saw that while I've made a lot of positive change in my bathroom by switching to more sustainable personal care products, my biggest source of waste is my kitchen. Even though I also never eat out and try to buy my foods in bulk (not bulk bins, but large quantities to reduce overall packaging), I still eat a lot of premade snacks that come in wrappers or foods that are wrapped in plastic. So now I know exactly where to focus my attention on cutting down the biggest part of my plastic footprint.
