I have some food that does not fit in re-usable plastic bags. So, I have been washing and re-using the large, heavy duty bags I already had. They are holding up well.

Food Cook a Zero-Plastic Waste Meal

Instead of ziplocs, use mason jars or containers. Instead of putting banana bread in a plastic bag, I put it in a cake carrier.

Find containers that food fits in, rather than using ziplocs.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

With the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?

I  bring a net bag to use for purchasing fruits, instead of the plastic bags in the produce area.

Finally got rid of all ziplocs, am using reusable containers, mason jars & reusable ziplocs. Now I just have to find good substitutes for plastic wrap!
