    Food Make Your Own
How do you feel about being more involved in the food preparation process? Joyful, overwhelmed, engaged, empowered? What are the benefits of choosing to process or produce your own food instead of buying it pre-processed?

I've spent July attempting to make usual staples (like bread) and even cleaning/hygiene products (baking soda exfoliant) from scratch. So far, so well. Though the time commitment is real, I'm finding that it's been surprisingly enjoyable
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

After looking into it for a while, I ended up giving bar conditioner and soap a try for haircare. Along with realizing how long a bar would last my partner (even though she has long, curly hair and tends to use a palm=full of conditioner every day) and I, just a couple days of using a bar conditioner already seemed to be making a difference.

Both our hair was notably soft and clean after using. The bars I'd purchased had been made by a local company (Silver Falls Sustainability Company) also came in plastic-free packaging, meaning that my money would stay in the community as opposed to profiting a large cosmetics conglomerate.
