    Food Skip the Straw
    Have you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.

    My "community" includes world-wide cruisers and I follow several message boards. There are a large number of people that are supportive of the use of reusable straws or at the very least, paper ones.  But, sadly, there are people who just don't get the bigger picture. They like to focus on some facts that point to the US as a minor offender compared to other countries. They like to point to some facts that say straws are such a minor part of the plastic problem, so why bother. It's a sad day when they justify using a plastic straw as some inalienable right, rather than protecting the environment they live in and the ocean they travel upon.

    Food Buy Unpackaged Produce
    Why do you think these produce products started amassing so much plastic packaging? Who is the plastic packaging really serving -- the consumer, the producer, or someone else?

    I think the packaging is for the convenience of the producer and the grocery, easier to ship and display in stores.

    It is actually an inconvenience for me since the amount of food packaged is more than I need and not only do I have the plastic problem, but I'm usually throwing away food also.
