Joyce Gorrell 7/24/2019 10:49 AMJust wrote a Facebook message to a chain restaurant in St. Louis to urge them to consider having straws available on demand! Great service last night but all beverages came with plastic straws (some had multiple). Hoping to hear back. Have others reached out to restaurants in this manner? What type of responses have you gotten? -
Joyce Gorrell 7/24/2019 10:41 AMI'm signed up for the "Watch a Documentary" Lifestyle challenge. Any recs?

Joyce Gorrell 7/01/2019 2:31 PMFor my "COMMUNITY, Write Letters or Emails" challenge today I wrote to Ipsy and let them know I cancelled my subscription because their shipping envelope is not recyclable. I realize many of us would forgo a service like this period but for folks that are signed up it would be good to challenge both the company and the client to expect more to reduce waste or offer a reusable / refillable shipping container. -
Joyce Gorrell 6/18/2019 11:44 AMI'm researching bamboo toothbrush options and found this article helpful and happy for anyone's feedback of which brands they use and like. https://wastelandrebel.com/en/my-quest-to-find-the-most-sustainable-toothbrush/-
Joyce Gorrell 6/21/2019 8:16 AMThis is great info, thank you! -
Suzanne Hirth 6/21/2019 7:17 AMI got my toothbrushes from Zero Waste Cartel. I also purchased bamboo toothbrush holders for traveling. Love them! -
Allie Hobgood 6/20/2019 5:55 AMI use brush with bamboo and I have really liked them. They are just as durable as your traditional plastic toothbrush and my teeth feel just as clean. I like that the plastic in the bristles has been reduced as much as possible and that everything else (including the packaging) is 100% biodegradable or compostable. I throw the box and the handle in my compost when I'm done with them and send the bag to commercial compost.
