Just wrote a Facebook message to a chain restaurant in St. Louis to urge them to consider having straws available on demand! Great service last night but all beverages came with plastic straws (some had multiple). Hoping to hear back. Have others reached out to restaurants in this manner? What type of responses have you gotten?

For my "COMMUNITY, Write Letters or Emails" challenge today I wrote to Ipsy and let them know I cancelled my subscription because their shipping envelope is not recyclable. I realize many of us would forgo a service like this period but for folks that are signed up it would be good to challenge both the company and  the client to expect more to reduce waste or offer a reusable / refillable shipping container.

I'm researching bamboo toothbrush options and found this article helpful and happy for anyone's feedback of which brands they use and like. https://wastelandrebel.com/en/my-quest-to-find-the-most-sustainable-toothbrush/

I got my toothbrushes from Zero Waste Cartel. I also purchased bamboo toothbrush holders for traveling. Love them!

I use brush with bamboo and I have really liked them. They are just as durable as your traditional plastic toothbrush and my teeth feel just as clean. I like that the plastic in the bristles has been reduced as much as possible and that everything else (including the packaging) is 100% biodegradable or compostable. I throw the box and the handle in my compost when I'm done with them and send the bag to commercial compost.
