With today being the last they have the challenge I realize that there are still a few more places that I can try to eliminate the use of plastic in my life. I've become more aware of products I order for work and how they are packaged. I dislike single-use plastic and plastics in general said this past month has made me a little bit more aware of where plastic is in my life and has me thinking on ways to get around it.

How can/did you prepare to be successful in this action? Did you engage in conversation with anyone about your new habit?

I enjoy doing to the market with my cloth bags; in a way it seems to help limit my spending in addition to keep plastic away. I often keep one or two in my car if I happen to run out to a shop and need more than two hands to carry my purchase. After spending time in Ireland and Scotland, I really appreciate that every plastic bag cost the consumer and would love to see the same thing in the US. Wooden utensils stay in my backpack for camping or activities away from home.

What are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?

My vegan-formulated shampoo, and condition are available in travel size containers. With my license as an esthetician, I am able to purchase bulk sizes that I can use to refill my smaller bottles. Friends who use the same products chip in for cost of the bulk size and the large contain is recyclable. I don't travel often but this is a simply way to have the correct size products without having to purchase additional plastic bottles.
