Alydia's actions
Pets
Invest in a Pooper-Scooper
I will swap out my single use plastic bags for a pooper-scooper.
Personal Care
That Was a Close Shave
I will replace my disposable razors with steel razors. Why not try using hair conditioner instead of shaving foam for that baby smooth feel?

Minimize Packaging
I will purchase food items with the least amount of packaging.
Food
Takeout Pro
I will use my own containers when ordering takeout.
Food
Skip the Straw
I will keep 4 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Food
Use Reusable Containers
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).

Dam the Flow
I will use a menstrual cup and/or cloth pads

I will replace my soaps, shampoos, and conditions with either a bar or refillable option.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Skip the StrawHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.
Alydia Fields-Miller 6/24/2019 4:14 PMThe community is more aware of the benefits of reusable straws and how one small switch improves our environment and health! Disposable plastic straws are one of the top 10 most common items of trash found in the ocean and on our beaches? With over 500 million plastic straws being used everyday in the US alone. By switching to reusable straws we can drastically reduce the amount of disposable straws that are made, used and thrown away! It really is going to take more people making conscious decisions to live greener and switch to reusable products in order to make a positive difference!!
