Stacee Demmer 7/30/2019 8:14 PMPaper straws seem to be all the rage at restaurants in Ely. -
Stacee Demmer 7/28/2019 8:05 PMI’ve been pleasantly surprised on our hikes this weekend, we have found only a few pieces of trash to pick up. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLifestyle Homemade CleanersWhat did you learn by making your own cleaning products? What is the biggest difference in making vs buying?
Stacee Demmer 7/28/2019 8:02 PMI’ve become very conscious of the money and resources used to ship water all over the country I and call it Cleaner. Concentrate and homemade are most of what we use these days. -
Stacee Demmer 7/27/2019 7:37 AMI needed a new phone case and just got my new Pela case in the mail. It’s 45% biobased materials (flax and compostable bioplastic). It feels nice but we shall see how it holds up. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Skip the StrawHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.
Stacee Demmer 7/27/2019 7:28 AMI have! One of our local restaurants has started only doing straws upon request, that alone has dropped the number used drastically and people don’t seem to miss them. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Stacee Demmer 7/26/2019 9:12 PMit teaches our kids to take pride and respect our community, especially since their dad is on city council. I may have also scolded some tweens at the park for leaving trash on the equipment. -
Stacee Demmer 7/26/2019 9:08 PMWe head out on vacation tomorrow, reusable water bottles are packed! -
Stacee Demmer 7/25/2019 7:13 AMWe are getting ready to head out on vacation next week so I took the kids to shop for bulk snacks so we aren't tempted to buy a bunch of plastic wrapped stuff from the convenience store. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use a Reusable Mug / Collapsible CupGreat job on getting rid of your disposable cup habit! How does it make you feel? What's next on your list to reduce your waste?
Stacee Demmer 7/14/2019 11:28 AMMobile ordering makes it so tempting to save a few minutes in the morning. But actually ordering from a person to use a reusable cup has meant getting to know my local baristas and even a few neighbors. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Plant a GardenBesides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?
Stacee Demmer 7/10/2019 7:14 AMWorking my garden is great for my fitness and mental well being. It's very relaxing and leads to a great sense of accomplishment.
