Picked up my plastic today and yesterday and used reusable cutlery and dishes on our road trip. A plethora of straws beside rest stops.

While canoeing yesterday I found two fishhooks with plastic flies lying right where children’s bare feet would wander and a long line of nylon fishing wire and the inevitable plastic cup from a fast food place and plastic ‘disposable’ water bottle. Sigh.

Plastics pick up today involved a walk around the block. They are farther and farther apart. Good thing. ITV was too dark to get a good picture - but yesterday’s included far too many water bottles. Only clean ones can be recycled. Sad.

So I’d i don’t order takeout can I check off that I used my own containers?  My plastic count increases.  I know that paper isn’t plastic but sometimes I pick up all litter in the area.

Found my plastic on the way to the bus stop yesterday. Evie, Bryce, and I took the bus instead of driving and refused a free balloon and had our poutine and free fruit popsicle served in the dish I carried with me and ate using our own cutlery!

Plastics everywhere.  Once, I picked up some on a bike ride, thinking I would drop them off st the bus shelter garbage, only to find out after I gathered them that there was no garbage, so I tried to stuff them into the larger bag I had collected, only to have it spill water and what looked like partially digested food into my shoe (gag!  Gag!!), and then I had to ride home with it only to be stopped by a train, so I had to cycle a longer way around!  Needless to say, my shoes and I had a shower together as soon as I got home.

Oops, I see that I had already posted that first picture. Couldn’t remember which ones I had posted already.

Evie and I were together today and I loved it when she called me over to show me the plastic she had spotted on the ground.

I have been very faithful on the five pieces of plastics. But I was at a restaurant and used two of those creamers without thinking. Habits are hard to break.
This  was today’s plastic cache. Who are these ignorant pet owners?!

Do some research on polystyrene and polyvinyl. How many items in your house already contain these toxins?

Far too many - but I need to do more research.  I am thinking that I will be changing the types of cloths I buy.  Anyone know a natural alternative to itchy wool??
