I have found that I can lead a much simpler life - as there are fewer choices I need to weed through.

Time outdoors in the evenings and early mornings allows for a connection to not only my yard, but also to the neighborhood wildlife.

Knowing what items that some people in our community think are okay to just drop on the ground and walk away make for interesting discussions on social dynamics and cultural acceptance of certain behaviors.

Haha! Amy, that's a very tactful way to think of it!  The discussions I have with myself and my invisible friend every time I stop to pick up an empty plastic bottle or 6-pack wrapper might not be culturally acceptable due to the "dynamic" language I use.  :-)
