Barb Brock 8/01/2019 9:45 PMThis I now do as routine: take all bags AND fruit bags when I go to grocery, re-use the spice plastic bags when I refill, have wide mouth pint jars always in my pickup for leftovers, try to do "you pick" if possible for blueberries and blackberries and IF I did have to use a plastic cup or bag for some reason, I will wash it out and use it more than once! Great challenge and I hope I'll keep it up :) -
Barb Brock 7/29/2019 11:22 PMOh this month has FLOWN by. I found it difficult to make no plastic a daily practice, BUT I did succeed on several days - at least more than I usually do so that is a start! Hope you all at least thought about the use of plastics more and made a few changes. I have a feeling each time we do this, we will get better :) -
Barb Brock 7/18/2019 9:55 PMHave been on an island for the past two weeks and watching how islanders take environmental issues much more seriously. Seeing plastic in the ocean makes me feel sick. And adding the comment "just trying to do the right thing" ALWAYS gets a nod at any shop or restaurant 😉 -
Barb Brock 7/14/2019 8:46 AMGathered my five pieces of trash from the ocean in my kayak today. Wish they could be tracked to the owner and FINED big-time... -
Barb Brock 7/09/2019 10:08 PMCarried my bottles and bags today and wrapped leftovers in paper. 😉 It can be done! -
Barb Brock 7/07/2019 9:42 PMBrought snacks in containers and managed to avoid ALL plastics as we traveled across the state. 👍 -
Barb Brock 7/03/2019 5:54 PMWhen I saw some delicious cherries at the grocery store, I just took them from their plastic bag and added them individually to my carry in bag. The checker had no problem just setting them on the scale in bulk form. Yay! These little issues are not really the big problems I thought they might be. And wide mouth pint jars are AWESOME to use :) -
Barb Brock 6/30/2019 11:55 PMI have several wide mouth pint size mason jars with lids in my pickup. Good for coffees, leftovers, and buying in bulk! We CAN do this life without plastic...can't we? After all, it was invented in the 50's!!!! What DID we all do before that?
