Not accepting plastic bags for anything, including produce, is so hard! I'm becoming more aware of how much plastic I consume because I am unprepared when shopping.

I usually keep bags in the car and a super compact bag in my purse. If I forget my bags, which I do occasionally, I put everything in one paper bag filled to the brim, then I recycle the bag. For produce, I have reusable bags that I do use about half the time. The other half, I place a shopping basket inside the shopping cart where I collect all the loose product I'm buying. I don't use a single plastic baggie. Of course it's a little bit inconvenient when you have to place every piece of produce on the belt, so now I just place the entire basket on the belt.
