Michelle's actions
Food
Use Reusable Water Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.
Lifestyle
Watch a Documentary
I will watch a documentary film about waste with family and friends and talk about what we learned.
Food
Use Reusable Utensils
I will keep 3 plastic cutlery out of the landfill per day by using my own reusable cutlery.
Food
Skip the Straw
I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Food
Use Reusable Containers
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Community
Keep My Community Clean
I will pick up 5 piece(s) of litter each day.

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Keep My Community CleanHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Use Reusable UtensilsHow can you be an advocate for using resusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable cutlery, and how can you convince them of the need for change?
Michelle Barron 7/22/2019 9:21 AMI hope that carrying reusable utensils will become as normal as carrying keys! The little packs are so easy to take around. I think places like farmers markets are dependent on it because they aren't in a fixed location. If places offered discounts to people bringing their reusable utensils then maybe it would encourage more people. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Skip the StrawHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.

Michelle Barron 7/15/2019 9:08 AMDempsey and I picked up trash downtown during our night stroll. We would of been there all night had we picked up every piece we saw. -
Michelle Barron 7/11/2019 7:35 AMI didn't leave enough time for breakfast so I packed cereal in reusable containers to bring to work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
