Completed the rePurpose Plastic calculator and discovered I use about 58Kg of plastic a year, which is above the USA average of 56kg. The average European uses about 53kg, and substantially less in third world countries.

I no longer have to buy single use plastic shampoo by the bottle. No waste and not even a need to recycle. When the bar is used up, just get another one...

Okay.................today is the first day of the Ecochallenge. I've already bought some bar shampoo - a first for me! Didn't even know there was such a thing. That represents 3-4 one pint plastic shampoo bottles I won't be throwing in the recycle bin or the trash this coming year. Yeah me!!!

I hope you guys are ready to have some fun with this. Just reading some of the challenges has already opened my eyes about things I'm doing wrong on a day to day basis that contribute to the plastic problem. I've already learned some things.
