I have gotten my family on board to replace plastic wrap with waxed paper. The kids even like the challenge of folding the wrap neatly over the sandwich. We have also discussed the problems with plastic straws and are experimenting with steel straws. Little things can mean a lot.

Mixed success here in Whistler.  We are using all of our own bags and I made it a point to skip the plastic tableware, but I couldn't bring myself to pay the inflated price for 6 packs of ~7 oz cans of soda for Rosie's shower and bought the 2-liter bottles for ~$2 less each.

Have been on vacation not buying my own food, but was able to use my own reusable bags when shopping and always skip straws.

I kinda hate social media, but I just posted on Facebook to spread the word about this challenge. If you're an active social media presence, can you take the lead on this for the team, with updates and reminders? Thanks!

Go to Beth Terry's website to view her additional challenge: keeping all the plastic you DO use each week and posting a photo of it here!
