Today, I ordered stainless steel double edge blades, rather than plastic razor cartridges. Those are especially bad because the steel is bonded to the plastic. They can never be recycled!

Today I made yogurt using an heirloom yogurt starter! So much easier than buying commercial yogurt in a plastic container as the starter. Now I can continually make fresh yogurt in glass mason jars, right on my kitchen counter!

Contrary to what many people believe, plastic is not truly recyclable. It’s actually just downcyclable, meaning that it can only be melted down and made into a lower-quality plastic, for a lower-quality use  than it’s original purpose. All plastic, therefore, is destined to become waste. In short, plastic is never a sustainable option.
