July 31 at 11:33 AMIt was an easy change. It was just a matter of awareness. When buying just a couple of items, I would not take a plastic bag but just carry the items out. I also carry cloth bags in car for when I purchase more items.

Imagine the impact you could have just by switching to a reusable water bottle or using reusable utensils at lunch!

I thought going to the Farmer's Market would be better, but they were pouring the berries out of their paper containers into plastic bags. My solution, I have started saving all of the plastic...

July 5 at 6:44 AMIt was really hard yesterday to meet any of the challenges. It really make me think about how many plastic packaged foods/beverages are really out there and that we need to really evaluate how we prepare for entertaining. How do you get away from bottled water at a picnic or BBQ?

July 3 at 11:28 AMI have made it a habit to travel with reusable shopping bags everywhere I go. There is always at least 1 in my purse, in my car, and now in my laptop bag for work.

July 2 at 7:50 AMThis year I swapped out the cases of bottled water for camp with re-usable stainless water bottles and I'm still using the same plastic bottle that I've had for 3 years. This keeps at least 3 water bottles a day out of the landfills.
