One of the things I'm most proud of as a result of this challenge is that I've inspired others in my life to make changes. I am completely ok with being the (anti) trash girl!

Typically I'm picking up litter where I'm walking, so it becomes very personal... as if people are littering in my own home. I have an enhanced feeling of ownership and pride in where I live... especially when it's free of trash

To kick this off, I sent out a survey to my whole team asking about their single-use lunchware. Based on the responses, I will invest in some reusable, washable cutlery for the team so they don't have to bring utensils from home, or so they have an option when they forget their cutlery or want to eat something quick at work without generating...

Today, I was doing research on sustainable nail polish solutions, and stumbled across the website Tabithas Eve. I just purchased a biodegradable loofah, reusable sponges, and handkerchiefs! I am so excited for my haul!

By purchasing all of my fruits and vegetables from the farmers market, I was able to make a salad with zero plastic waste. I even made my own dressing!

Did this yesterday as I put out my rubbish and recycling for pick up.

Got some salmon at my favorite local butcher, and saved on the mass of plastic used in pre-packaged fish.

It’s challenging to avoid food packaged in plastic, but my housemates and I have been having the conversation and making some small, conscious choices to avoid it when there are choices (e.g. farmers market).
